The Alexander Eastman Board of Trustees announces $195,000 in community grant awards for the period from January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021 to the following organizations:

  • Clarity Community Connections:  $10,000
    • A Good Friend and Break-Through programs provide case management services, mentorship, and education to high-risk individuals so that they can thrive and become their best selves.
  • Community Crossroads: $5,000
    • The Partners in Health program provides resources, family support assistance, and funding to families of children with chronic health conditions from birth to 21 years of age.
  • FBC Community Food Pantry:  $15,000
    • Distributes personal hygiene and other non-perishable products to clients, in addition to the food items supplied.
  • Greater Derry Oral Health: $35,000
    • The Children’s Dental Network provides comprehensive preventative dental services and oral health education of children from birth through middle school.
  • NH Catholic Charities: $25,000
    • The NH Food Bank addresses the continuing need for hunger relief in Derry, NH, and surrounding communities by purchasing approximately 30,485 pounds of food (equivalent to 25,400 meals) for 2,897 low-income families and individuals in need.
  • Rockingham Nutrition and Meals on Wheels: $40,000
    • In home and community support to older adults and home bound adults provides stability for a portion of the population that is at higher risk for morbidity and mortality from COVID-19.
  • Sonshine Soup Kitchen: $35,0000
    • Provides free nutritious meals for the needy. Since the COVID-19 crisis, meals are served on a drive through/walk up basis.
  • The Upper Room:  $40,000
    • The Adolescent Wellness Program serves youth aged 13 to 18 exhibiting unhealthy behaviors which impact their potential to become well adjusted, resourceful adult by promoting healthy alternatives.
