The Alexander Eastman Board of Trustees announces $489,500 in community grant awards for the period from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022 to the following organizations:

  • Community Caregivers of Greater Derry: $35,000
    • Operating support for the Volunteer Caregiving and Loaner’s Closet programs. These programs help a vulnerable local population access critical health services and remain more safely and independently in their own homes.
  • Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of NH: $10,000
    • Provides a voice for abused and neglected children and youth by empowering a network of trained volunteers to advocate on their behalf so they can thrive in safe, permanent homes.
  • Derry Homegrown Farm: $5,000
    • Operating support to provide local farmers and growers, artisanal bakers, gourmets and craftspeople with a long term sustainable marketplace.
  • Friends Program: $7,000
    • The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) works to increase access to food, medical care, nutrition, exercise, health care and education, prevention, and improved health outcomes.
  • Greater Derry Community Health Services: $200,000
    • Operating support for the delivery of health services, case management, and behavioral health services.
  • Greater Derry Oral Health Collaborative: $95,000
    • Support for the provision of comprehensive preventive dental services and education to improve the oral health of children from birth through middle school.
  • Isaiah 58 of NH: $25,000
    • Support for work being done to address homelessness and housing insecurity.
  • New Life Ministries: $20,000
    • New Life Home provides a residential rehabilitation home to nurture, empower, and advocate for the advancement of women and children.
  • Planned Parenthood of Northern New England – Derry Health Center: $45,000
    • Support for providing health and dental care to under-served and vulnerable populations.
  • The Upper Room: $40,000
    • The Family Wellness program promotes safe, stable, and nurturing relationships between children and parents and/or caregivers.
  • Upreach Therapeutic Equestrian Center: $7,500
    • Support for equine-assisted activities/therapies and experience the power of the horse to promote increased overall independence and wellness.
