The Alexander Eastman Board of Trustees announces $170,000 in community grant awards for the period from January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019 to the following organizations:
- Partners in Health – Community Crossroads: $10,000
- Provides resources and assistance to families of children with chronic health conditions from birth to age 21.
- FBC Community Food Pantry: $15,000
- To effectively distribute personal hygiene and other non-perishable products to clients, in addition to the food items we currently supply
- Friends Program – RSVP: $7,000
- Operating support for recruiting, screening and placing volunteers with local agencies to increase access to food, medical care, nutrition, exercise, health care, health education, prevention and improved health outcomes.
- Future In Sight: $15,000
- Provides expanded vision rehabilitation services, including adaptive technology, safe travel training, home safety and management services to people with severe vision loss.
- Girls, Inc. of New Hampshire: $6,000
- To implement the Girls Inc. Young Women’s Leadership Program at Pinkerton Academy. Funding will also enable girls to attend the state wide YWL Conference in the spring.
- NH Catholic Charities – NH Food Bank: $25,000
- Provides nearly 36,000 meals to low-income families and individuals in need.
- Rockingham Nutrition and Meals on Wheels: $37,000
- Provides approximately 17,000 nutritious meals to elders and homebound adults, allowing them to maintain their health and independence.
- Sonshine Soup Kitchen: $15,0000
- Providing nutritious meals in a safe, welcoming setting for the needy.
- The Upper Room: $40,000
- Adolescent Wellness (AWP) is a comprehensive program targeting youth aged 13 to18 exhibiting unhealthy behaviors which impact their potential.
