The Alexander Eastman Board of Trustees announces $458,800 in community grant awards for the period from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019 to the following organizations:

  • Child and Family Services: $5,800
    • Scholarships for children of incarcerated parents at Camp Spaulding.
  • Community Caregivers: $28,000
    • Operating support for the Volunteer Care-Giving and Loaner’s Closet programs.
  • Copper Cannon Camp: $8,000
    • Summer camp scholarships.
  •  End 68 Hours of Hunger, Derry and Chester: $10,000
    • Support for a program that confronts the 68 hours of hunger that some school children experience between the free lunch at school on Friday and free breakfast at school on Monday morning.
  • Greater Derry Community Health Services: $195,000
    • Operating support for the delivery of health services, case management, and behavioral health services.
  • Greater Derry Oral Health Collaboarative: $120,000
    • Support for the provision of comprehensive preventive dental services and education to improve the oral health of children from birth through middle school.
  • Isaiah 58 of NH: $17,000
    • Support for work being done to address homelessness and housing insecurity.
  • Planned Parenthood of Northern New England – Derry Health Center: $35,000
    • Support for providing healthcare to under-served and vulnerable populations.
  • St. Gianna’s Place: $10,000
    • Operating support for services to expectant and new mothers and their infants, including food, clothing, access to medical and mental health care, job training, and other educational opportunities.
  • The Upper Room: $30,000
    • Support for the Family Wellness Program, which promotes safe, stable and nurturing relationships between children and parents/caregivers to reduce the incidence of abuse, neglect and family violence, and to mitigate the effects of adverse childhood experiences.
