We are excited to share with you an update to the Alexander Eastman Foundation’s Grant programs and our grant criteria, with a renewed focus on community health and wellness programs and initiatives in the greater Derry community we serve.
The Foundation has moved to a single annual grant award cycle with an online application period which is open now and are due by Friday, May 12, 2023. Awards will be made in early July.
In addition to the annual award, the Foundation has added two new categories.
- Community Need Grant, awards made to address an urgent need off cycle, this award should not exceed $10,000, with exceptions to be made at the discretion of the Board. The grant application shall be made through the AEF Grant Lifecycle Management online process.
- Chair and Executive Director Grant, awards made to address a community health, wellness, or education need or event, not to exceed $2,500. For more information contact the Executive Director. These grants are not intended to circumvent the normal grant application process and are limited to one award annually.
With these new categories the Foundation hopes to better support a wider range of grantees whose mission and proposal are consistent with the Mission of the Foundation: “Promoting the health and well-being of residents of the Greater Derry Community.” It is the intent of the Foundation to continue supporting our grantees to the fullest extent possible while also supporting other new or existing programs or initiatives within our community.
It is important that all current and future grant awardees comply with the expectation that all grants must be submitted with the required information as part of the grant award online process. Additionally, grantees must provide the Foundation with a copy of the AEF Final Grant Report prior to applying for any additional grants.
