The Alexander Eastman Board of Trustees announces $167,000 in community grant awards for the period from January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020 to the following organizations:
- Partners in Health – Community Crossroads: $7,500
- Provides resources and assistance to families of children with chronic health conditions from birth to age 21.
- Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of New Hampshire, Inc.: $10,000
- Provides a voice for abused and neglected children and youth by empowering a statewide network of trained volunteers to advocate on their behalf so they can thrive in safe, permanent homes.
- FBC Community Food Pantry: $15,000
- Distributes personal hygiene and other non-perishable products to clients, in addition to the food items we currently supply
- Friends Program – RSVP: $7,000
- Recruites, screens, and places volunteers with local agencies to increase access to food, medical care, nutrition, exercise, health care, health education, prevention and improved health outcomes.
- NH Catholic Charities – NH Food Bank: $25,000
- Provides nearly 36,000 meals to low-income families and individuals in need.
- Rockingham Nutrition and Meals on Wheels: $40,000
- Provides approximately 17,000 nutritious meals to elders and homebound adults, allowing them to maintain their health and independence.
- The Salvation Army: $7,500
- Combates hunger across the great Derry region by distributing groceries through their food pantry, summer feeding program for school children, and holiday baskets.
- Sonshine Soup Kitchen: $15,0000
- Provides nutritious meals in a safe, welcoming setting for the needy.
- The Upper Room: $40,000
- Promotes healthy alternatives by providing youth aged 13 to 18 with prevention and early intervention services related to substance use, anger, multiple day school suspensions and other unhealthy choices through the Adolescent Wellness Program (AWP).
