The Alexander Eastman Board of Trustees announces $541,750.00 in community grant awards supporting Health and Wellness programs in the Greater Derry, NH area (Derry, Windham, Londonderry, Chester, Sandown, and Hampstead) to the following organizations:

  • The Upper Room: $80,000.00
    • Support of the Family Wellness Program which promotes safe, stable, and nurturing relationships between children and parents/caregivers to reduce the incidences of abuse, neglect, and family violence, and to mitigate the effects of adverse childhood experiences.
  • Boys & Girls Club of Greater Derry: $33,000.00
    • Operational Support
  • Planned Parenthood of Northern New England: $45,000.00
    • Support for providing healthcare to under-served and vulnerable populations at the Derry office.
  • Rockingham County Meals on Wheels: $40,000.00
    • Operational Support for health and wellness programs in the Greater Derry area.
  • Community Caregivers of Greater Derry: $40,000.00
    • Support of the Loaner’s Closet and Community Caregivers programs.
  • Greater Derry Community Health Services: $100,000.00
    • Operational support for the delivery of health access programs.
  • Family Promise of Southern NH: $10,000.00
    • Focused support for those facing housing insecurity in the Greater Derry area.
  • Greater Derry Oral Health: $100,000.00
    • Funding for the provision of comprehensive preventive dental services and education to improve the oral health of children from birth through middle school.
  • The Salvation Army of Great Derry: $10,000.00
    • Support for the Kids Summer Lunch Program in Derry.
  • The Derry Friendship Center: $10,000.00
    • Funding of the Peer-to-Peer Recovery program.
  • Isaiah 58 of New Hampshire: $35,000.00
    • Support of the programs to address homelessness and housing insecurity in the Greater Derry area.
  • Greater Derry Food Council, NH Hunger Solutions: $20,000.00
    • AEF is supporting a two-year pilot program in the Greater Derry area to connect residents to the food and nutrition supports they need, and to engage in coalition building among existing and emerging food access organizations.
  • Sonshine Soup Kitchen: $13,250.00
    • Operational support of the food services delivery to residents of the Greater Derry area.
  • Seacoast Child Advocacy Center: $2,500
    • Pilot training program for First Responders in the Greater Derry area – “The Role of First Responders”.
